Ferrari by Hans Tanner 6th Ed

The story of Ferrari is an incredible saga, Orr this is a company which has been governed by Italian temperament and inspiration rather than a 'safe' committee. Enzo Ferrari. the greatest entrepreneur in his field since Ettore Bugatti, has elevated the design of Ferrari cars to an art-form which can only be truly appreciated by the read connoisseur. Enzo has not only given his name to his cars, he has also given his soul. Swiss journalist and racing enthusiast Hans Tanner lived Ferrari history in Modena, being a friend and naighbour of Enzo and his factory, as well as one-time employee. Tanner's Ferrari was first published in 1959 as an intimate and highly detailed view of the complete Ferrari story bream great successes through to failures and tragedies. He subsequently enlarged and updated his work through three further editions — all sell-outs — before his death in 1975. The task of extending and updating Ferrari. first to the 5th edition, and now to this 6th edition, was taken on by Doug Nye, the internationally respected British journalist and leading authority on sports sod racing cars. In the 6th edition Doug Nye has included much additional material, not only to bring die various sections of the book up to date, but to help fill out many of the earlier, historical chapters. Particular efforts have gone into expanding the Road Car section which has, perhaps, received less than its fair share of attention in the past. The appendices, too, have been updated where necessary. the section being expanded by the Inclusion of three entirely new appendices.PRODUCT DETAILS Albaco SKU#: zb028e Year: 1984 Month: Day: Language: English Prod # / ISBN: 854293507 Author: Hans Tanner & Doug Nye Brand / Manufacturer: Haynes Dimensions: 662pg Description: Hard Cover

Ferrari 250 GTO (K Bluemel, J Pourret)

This book is by far the most lavish study of the GTO ever attempted. Years of research by the joint authors, long-time Ferrari writer Keith Bluemel and renowned Ferrari historian Jess G. Pourret (also a former GTO owner), have uncovered a mass of detailed information about this revered Ferrari. The description, analysis and illustration in this book will satisfy the thirst of anyone who admires the GTO. Important participants in the GTO story have opened up memories and personal records for this book. On the design and engineering side, Giotto Bizzarrini, Mauro Forghieri and Sergio Scaglietti have been consulted. Many of the most distinguished GTO drivers, from John Surtees to Nino Vaccarella, have provided their recollections. Painstaking data gathering by veteran Ferrari race entrant Jacques Swaters, of Brussels-based Ecurie Francorchamps, has generated depth of detail that is unsurpassed. Numerous owners, past and present, have contributed to detailed biographies of the 36 examples of the 250 GTO that were made. More than 300 photographs, mainly from the car's design and development phase and its active 1962-64 period in GT racing at World Championship level, bring the GTO to life. Strenuous efforts have been made to source illustrations from the best contemporary photographers world-wide, with special emphasis on the use of rare period shots. A further bonus is a gallery of modern photography of an exceptional GTO. Most of the photographs have not been published before.PRODUCT DETAILS Albaco SKU#: zb025 Year: 1998 Month: Day: Language: English Prod # / ISBN: 1901432157 Author: Keith Bluemel with J Pourret Brand / Manufacturer: Dimensions: 192pg Description: Hard Cover
