2nd printing of the 1st edition of this classic book by Hans Tanner.
In this book the aothor not only provides a complete racing record of the famous marque, from its inception in the racing stables of Alfa Romeo, but gives also informed technical descriptions and tabulated data of all Ferrari types and engines including Grand Prix, Sports and Touring cars. The racing results and performances are also tabulated in considerable detail in the appendices. Enzo Ferrari, today perhaps the creator of the world's most exciting motor cars, builds to a standard of engineering and artistic excellence that concedes nothing to manufacturing cost or expedience. His creations are in many respects comparable with the masterpieces of the great Ettore Bugatti, though probably owing more to engineering and less to art, and many of them will undoubtedly be preserved and treasured as are the gems from Molsheim. His racing history inevitably includes many of the greatest names and these pages pay worthy tribute to the memory of such famous drivers as Ascari, Collins, Fangio, Farina, Ginther, Hawthorn, Phil Hill, Nuvolari, Von Trips and many others, without whose indomitable courage and determination even Ferrari's cars could not have succeeded.
